Kindergarten

So I enjoy reading Lindsey and Jeff's blog so much, I decided to start my own! It might take me some practice to figure out how this works, but so far so good!

I'm very excited for Jake's first day of Kindergarten tomorrow. I can't believe the day has finally arrived. We got him into the school in the catchment area for our new house even though we don't move for another two weeks or so. It's a good school. It's a Traditional school with a lot of parent and community involvement. Their focus is on structure, respect and traditional family values and community support and involvment in the children's development and learning. We'll see how Jake does in that environment. He can be a bit stubborn and headstrong at times, but maybe he just acts that way around us! I'm really hoping he does well at school. He gets to wear a uniform too. It's navy blue pants and white polo shirt or turtleneck. They also wear either a burgundy sweater or a burgundy fleece vest over the white shirt. He looks quite handsome! Now if only he'll let me cut his hair! It is seriously a large, puffy, bush of hair. The longer his hair gets, the bushier it gets and the smaller his face looks...too funny. It is quite an ordeal to cut his hair. I've always done it myself with trimmer. I just shave it all one length. It usually takes about an hour to finish due to all the screaming, crying and squirming. Bribes don't work...plus the suckers and popsicles I've used as bribes end up getting hair all over them as he tries to eat them while his hair is being cut. I don't dare take him to a barber. I can't imagine the scene we'd make! Lol.

I guess I better get to bed! Must get up early and get back into a routine! Goodbye lazy days of summer!
