I'm so happy that fall is on it's way. It's my favorite season of all. Bentley loves it too. We are both fans of cooler weather and we don't mind the rain. I just don't like the rain continuously for days on end. It's pretty windy here today too. Jake is disappointed that we won't be going to the park today. I try to explain to him that we can't possibly go to the park every single day, but I don't think he sees any reason why we can't! I keep reminding him that once we move, he'll be able to go outside and play whenever he wants in his very own backyard.
We went over to the new house yesterday. The current owners gave us a lesson in yard work and how to maintain a koi pond! It's not too complicated. There's a pump and a waterfall for the pond that needs to be looked after, but it's pretty easy. Bentley is looking forward to having lots to do in the yard....we'll see how long that lasts! It actually looks pretty low maintenance. They've got blueberry, strawberry and asparagus plants that will come back next summer. They've also got green peppers, watermelons, tomatoes, beans and some other things that we will have to re-plant. How fun though! I've always wanted to grow my own fruits and vegetables and now I can! We have to rip out some dead trees. They are nice 12 foot privacy cedars that cost them about $100 each! It's such a shame that they died. There's about 6 of them that we'll have to replace. We might choose a different tree that's not so expensive...we'll see. The neighbors have a pool, so it's more of a privacy issue for them I guess...:)
Jake has already made some friends there. He was playing while we were there and he fell and scraped his arm. He cried pretty good and wouldn't let me touch it at first, but I eventually got a band-aid and some cream onto it. He wouldn't bend his arm after that..it was so funny. He was running around holding his arm in this funny, awkward position. Too cute...
We met some of the neighbors too. The current owners said that people are very curious about who we are. It's a very friendly neighborhood. Everyone looks out for each others kids and houses. I can't wait for Halloween! Everyone decorates their houses so well and it's a lot of fun. They even have a festival at the "community center" (which is actually just the old sales and presentation building for the development). We have lots to look forward to!
